MAAA Conference Standings Tiebreakers
Approved 05/10/2006 

All teams are ranked in the conference standings based on total points:
Win = 2 points
Loss = 0 points
Tie = 1 point

Conference Championship:
In the event of a tie for the conference championship, any tied teams will share the award. 

Seeding Tiebreaking Criteria:  

1. Most Points in Conference Standings.
2. Head-to-Head winner in Conference Games.
3. Coin Flip (or Drawing when more than 2 teams are tied).
   *Conducted by an authorized MAAA representative.

Playoff Seeding Detailed Scenarios:

• When 2 teams are tied for a seeding the higher seed is awarded to the winner of
  their regular season head-to-head game.
   
• When 3 or more teams are tied for a seeding, a drawing of those teams for the high seed will be conducted by an authorized MAAA representative*. Once the high seed is drawn, the remaining teams tied are seeded based on head-to-head game results
  
  (Example: 3 teams are tied for the #9 seed; all 3 teams are placed in a drawing for the #9 seed. The 2 remaining teams after the drawing are seeded based on their head-to-head game result.)

* Board President, Vice-President, Division Scheduling Coordinator or Officials Coordinator.
